The Sound of the Ten-Cent Tiki
Totara (three thousand years old), pigment,
tissue paper, colored pencils, pastel, piano parts,
found materials.
Hand carved, assembled, painted. There is a drawer
in the lower mid section of the piece. When the
drawer is pulled, it activates the piano hammers,
which then strike the piano wires creating a sound.
Made in collaboration with Glen Spencer, genius husband.
